Job Description
MISSION STATEMENT:
Cullman Parks, Recreation, & Sports Tourism is dedicated to improving quality of life through exceptional parks, facilities, events, and recreational opportunities for all.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, coordinates, and executes city-wide special events and festivals, managing all aspects from conception to completion including timeline development, budgeting, and post-event evaluation.
- Develops and maintains relationships with vendors, suppliers, and community partners to ensure successful event execution.
- Creates detailed event plans including site maps, timelines, vendor layouts, and emergency response procedures.
- Manages event budgets, including cost projections, expense tracking, and reconciliation.
- Coordinates with marketing team to develop promotional strategies and materials for events.
- Oversees event staff and volunteers, providing training, scheduling, and day-of-event management.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant permits, licenses, and insurance requirements for events.
- Develops and implements risk management strategies for all events, including safety protocols and emergency response plans.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive event documentation, including procedures, contacts, and best practices.
- Evaluates event success through data collection, attendee feedback, and post-event analysis.
- Researches industry trends and best practices to continuously improve event quality and attendance.
- Coordinates with city departments (Police, Fire, Public Works) for necessary event support and services.
- Works closely with sponsorship team to fulfill sponsor commitments during events.
- Manages event equipment inventory, maintenance, and storage.
- Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
- Works a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedule.
- Works a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
