Job Title: Associate Producer
Location: Hollywood, CA (Onsite)
*Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.00 USD hourly
The Associate Producer will work alongside the feature finishing producing team in a supporting capacity. The Producing team is responsible for oversight and management of the feature finishing production process from initial pre-pro phase through conform, color and delivery.
The Associate Producer will coordinate with internal operations, scheduling and assist teams to schedule facility resources, set project priorities and ensure timely completion of all intermediate processes and deliverables as per client production schedule and requirements. This position will also participate alongside our producing team on regular status calls, production summaries and strategy meetings for high-profile feature finishing projects.
The Associate Producer actively provides support and executes task based work for the feature finishing producing team.
This position will require working onsite in our Hollywood studio on a regular basis. You will be required to travel and work out of our studios in Santa Monica, as needed. This is not a remote position.
You must be willing to work extended hours, variable shifts, weekends and holidays, as necessary per business needs.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Associate Producer will coordinate and execute task-based project requests as directed by the feature finishing producer(s). They will generate project based work orders for conform, color, data and QC as directed by the feature finishing producing team. They will participate in active learning of feature finishing process and workflow; and adheres to the standard operating procedures set forth by the feature production team. They will engage in review of production schedules and coordinates session bookings as directed by lead feature finishing producer(s).
Other duties include:
• Use Media Pulse, Jira/Confluence.
• Track conform, color and data production tickets.
• Understanding of production processes (dailies, VFX, editorial) in relation to post production feature finishing.
• Coordinate on tasks related to VFX pulls and VFX reviews.
• Coordinate on tasks related to QC.
• Will gain knowledge of conform and color related spec information
• Familiarity with various file formats and respective measure units.
• Develop understanding of the relation between feature production team and the various support teams (Operations, Deliverables, Archives).
• Active participation in rotating production meetings.
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will bring previous experience in a feature or episodic dailies, Post Production or VFX finishing environment. They will bring an ability to perform in a fast-paced high-pressure environment with competing priorities under tight deadlines. They will bring an ability to follow direction and to provide timely, comprehensive updates and follow-thorough. They will have an understanding of the Post Production scheduling process and the concept of deadlines therein, as well as an understanding of the digital editorial process and the relationship between offline and online editorial environments.
The ideal candidate will also bring the following:
• Strong communication skills & highly organized.
• Develop understanding of finishing process and know when to escalate.
• Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Great inter-personal skills, be meticulous, always organized and work calmly and professionally especially during high pressure situations.
• An appetite to learn and master the digital finishing workflow including image acquisition technologies, digital camera types, best editorial procedure, online-conform, color correction, LUTs, digital cinema, HDR and deliverable requirements and procedures relevant to each of your projects.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with internal faculties including editorial, color, operations, data and engineering is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment; and ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Highly organized and able to work independently within their own process.
• Entertainment and/or Media Industry experience preferred.
• Strong systems skills, especially with Media Pulse, Jira/Confluence is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel and Word
