Community Affairs Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY (PURPOSE OF POSITION):
The Community Affairs Coordinator plays a key role in managing and supporting various community-focused programs and initiatives. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders. The role involves oversight of individual programs such as the Tour Program, 50/50 Raffle, and School Program, as well as assisting the Community Affairs team with additional projects and game day responsibilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Oversight of the Following Programs:
Autographs for Charity Program
Fun At Bat Program
• Maintain and develop relationships with USA Baseball and local schools.
• Expand the program's reach through direct engagement with educators.
• Coordinate and distribute educational materials to participating schools.
Donation Drives
• Organize and execute fan-facing and internal donation drives.
• Develop new partnerships with local and international nonprofits.
• Coordinate logistics for delivery and execution of donations.
Departmental Support for Larger Programs:
General Community Affairs Responsibilities:
• Participate in community relations events, including baseball clinics, youth camps, outreach initiatives, and charity drives.
• Provide operational and administrative support for department-wide programs.
• Serve as a public-facing representative for the Rockies in community settings.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must meet the following minimum requirements:
• OR equivalent work experience with 1-2 years of community affairs, business, sports management, or marketing experience.
• Possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Must have excellent customer service skills with a high level of comfort speaking in front of large groups.
• Must work effectively with a broad range of people inside and outside the Rockies organization.
• Must have the ability to maintain a professional working relationship with players and player families.
• Professional demeanor with consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office organization.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE:
• The role will have two types of environments, office setting and outdoors:
• Open office/cubicle setting: perform administrative duties at a desk, including computer-based tasks, email correspondence, and program coordination.
• Event support: may occur outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
SALARY RANGE:
Salary Range $50K-$55K. This is a regular-status, full-time, salaried, non-exempt position.
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the Colorado Rockies consider relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
