Job Description

This person will report and write original stories for CNN Digital's Enterprise team, producing content that appears across CNN's mobile and desktop sites, apps, social accounts and other platforms. The ideal candidate is a resourceful reporter and a versatile writer with a track record of smartly framed stories brimming with authority and voice. Must be comfortable handling a range of assignments, from quick news writes to breezy features to deeply reported enterprise stories. Ideal candidates also will generate clever story ideas that contribute to the national (and sometimes global) conversation around news, topical issues and pop culture. An interest in creative storytelling formats -- driven by images, graphics and interactive templates – is a plus.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Produces content each week for CNN's digital platforms
• Files well-structured stories with proper spelling, style and punctuation
• Juggles multiple assignments, from news-adjacent stories to longer-term projects
• Pitches clever story ideas around topical issues and subjects of interest to CNN's audience
• Builds stories in Stellar, CNN's content management system, following best practices for SEO, hyperlinks and embedded video
• Works closely with other teams across CNN, including the National News Hub, Photo, Visuals, Video and Programming
• Cares deeply about accuracy, fairness and integrity, and in safeguarding the trust CNN has earned with audiences worldwide

Qualifications & Experience…
• 3+ years of journalism experience, preferably as a writer for a digital media outlet
• College degree or equivalent industry experience
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Ability to juggle multiple writing projects at once while meeting deadlines
• Strong editorial judgment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluency in current events, pop culture and sports

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $71,400.00 - $132,600.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
