CNBC.com is looking for a Reporter to cover politics from a current-day business angle, with an emphasis on policies and news that impact public and private businesses. This Reporter will produce original stories and scoops, develop and maintain sources, and deliver quick and accurate breaking news.
What you'll do:
• Cover politics from a business angle, with an emphasis on original reporting and policy that affects public and private businesses.
• Deliver quick, accurate coverage of other general news that affects business and markets on weekends.
• Develop and maintain sources in the Trump administration, chase scoops and pitch original, business-meets-politics angles on the news of the day.
• Read relevant daily analyst reports and build insights and research into your reporting.
• Collaborate with the whole newsroom by sharing your reporting, sources, and insights whenever you can.

Qualifications
What you'll bring:
• 3+ years of experience in political news, reporting, writing, or producing.
• Experience working in a fast-paced digital or TV newsroom.
• A passion for politics and elections, and the ability to cover developing news as it happens.
• Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills and editorial judgment.
• The ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment, often under tight deadline pressures.
You'll stand out with:
• Clips of strongly reported well written stories on politics, policy, campaigns or legislation.
• Established relationships with experts and sources in politics or on Wall Street.
• An understanding of how public companies operate and how global events impact investor decisions.
• A BA or college equivalent degree.
Additional Requirements:
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
