Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
The Assistant Producer is an essential team member who supports the senior producers in creating and producing CNBC live TV programs and show segments. He/She will also partner with producers and Operations team on overall show content and production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in building and creating world-class business news content for CNBC's core programming
• Research stories and/or guests, and uncover new angles on stories
• Write scripts, select relevant and appropriate videos, soundbites/sound elements for the shows
• Conceive segment and story ideas, interview questions, and elements for TV programs with producers to develop these ideas into engaging programming
• Communicate effectively and clearly in the news gallery while maintaining flexible and calm attitude when working in a high-tension, breaking news environment
• Select graphics, including CGs and full frames that require little or no editing, choose the best time periods for hotboards and initiate good use of graphic elements in the shows
• Learn to format line-ups with iNews and Avid systems, as well as work efficiently with programs for graphics, CGs, and hotboards
• Develop strong news judgment through consistent research, reading and pursuing good news stories
• Cooperate with Video Editors, Graphic Designers, Studio Directors etc in Operations to produce stellar programming
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
• Relevant university degree and/or work experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in television news production
• Knowledge of business, finance and/or economy/markets in Asia
• Fluency in English is essential
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent and effective communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as work in a team effectively
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced live-programming newsroom
