Overview and Responsibilities:

CBS News Colorado is looking for a dedicated video editor and news writer to work alongside newscast producers to deliver relevant, urgent, and community-serving news content! This person must thrive in a fast-paced television news environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Write and edit news scripts for broadcast and stream productions
• Write compelling, succinct, clear news scripts under tight deadlines
• Video editing of content for news broadcasts using Avid systems preferred
• Candidate must be adaptable with work schedule

Basic qualifications:
• Related college degree and/or equivalent
• At least 2 years experience in television news
• Proficient in non-linear editing
• Keen eye for detail including, spelling, fact-checking, balance, and fairness
• Ability to respond rapidly and optimally to breaking news

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $49,920.00 - 58,240.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
