CBS News Detroit, the CBS owned & operated TV station in Detroit, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking News Producer. CBS News Detroit isn't like your ''traditional'' news department. We are looking for someone who has a passion for storytelling!

As a key member of our team, you will bring your expertise and passion for news production to build engaging content that captivates our audience. This position requires a keen understanding of allowing content to dictate the format. ..Proficiency in top story treatment and urgent production style is a must! Your ability to excel in conversational writing and advanced production techniques will be crucial to the success of our news programs.

Responsibilities:
• Originate, research, write, produce, and edit news segments for television and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of news.
• Work in the newsroom and control room demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast paced situations.
• Adopt change and innovation, constantly seeking new ideas and approaches to connect with our audience.
• Contribute to the station's goal of growing digital-first content.
• Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.
• Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of broadcast or cable news experience preferred.
• Background in journalism and television production, including solid news judgment, rundown management, and concise broadcast writing.
• Familiarity with streaming platforms and working knowledge of digital video production techniques and online content management.
• Previous experience in a live control room, including serving as a Line Producer in a live-news environment.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check prior to beginning employment.

Hiring Salary Range: $.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
