Job Description

KCAL News, the CBS owned and operated television station in Los Angeles, is looking for an Executive Producer to co-lead KCAL Mornings!
OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Executive Producer will help lead 6 hours of live morning news. The successful candidate will report to the VP/News Director, Mornings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
- Making informed decisions on news coverage and show rundowns to ensure engaging and current content.
- Planning and coordinating special coverage and events.
- Supervising field crews and in-house anchors, providing mentorship and support.
- Copy editing scripts from producers and reporters to maintain accuracy and clarity.
- Developing and implementing streaming strategies to improve the station's digital presence.
- Working collaboratively with other members of the management team to foster a cohesive and productive work environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven success in a leadership role within a news or media organization.
- Ability to train, mentor, and guide an editorial team to achieve high performance.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and optimally handle the demands of a streaming service.
- In-depth knowledge of social media and the competitive digital news environment
- Familiarity with iNews and non-linear editing systems.
- Willingness to work early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $140,000.00 - 175,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
