OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CBS Newspath is seeking an Associate Producer with a strong commitment to journalism to join the team! This person will coordinate Newspath news production and newsgathering operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Help manage Newspath's response to breaking news and respond to video and editorial requests from CBS broadcasts, owned stations, affiliates and clients
• Responsible for editing and publishing Newspath video and scripts and assisting in the transmission and distribution of live video, edited video and correspondent packages
• Occasionally fill in for the Supervising Producer
• Spot viral and pre-trending content and turn it around for our brand and be proficient in rights and clearances

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years local and/or network TV news experience or show producer experience
• Strong editorial judgement & excellent writing skills
• Strong editing skills, Avid preferably
• A focus on multi-media content
• Familiarity with all major social media platforms and vehicles for engaging audiences on a digital level. This includes - but is not limited to - Facebook, Facebook Live, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Instagram Stories, and YouTube

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred
• Highly developed relationship building skills
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment is essential
• Understanding TV newsgathering and transmission technology
• Knowledge of regional television markets and station relationships a plus
• Willingness and flexibility to work a variety of different shifts, overnight and weekend responsibilities

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $58,000.00 - 67,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
