Job Description

OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CBS News and Stations is looking for an Associate Producer to join the team! This person will work extensively with our Newspath team in a variety of capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• 24/7 operation of the Newspath LiveU Matrix – both for live feed acquisition for CBS News, Stations and clients, and to distribute news feeds and live shots for stations, affiliates, clients etc
• Coordinate and route breaking news, correspondent live shots, planned news events, targeted bump shots, etc
• Schedule, coordinate and run CBS News correspondent live shots for stories of the day, special events and breaking news
• Schedule, manage and troubleshoot CBS News LiveU, IP and satellite transmission for CBS News correspondents worldwide
• Coordinate live remotes and tape feeds for CBS Mornings, CBS Evening News, Weekend News, Face the Nation, CBS 24-7, 4am Morning News, CBS Owned Stations, CBS affiliates, CBS Sports
• Operate and manage other news transmission for CBS News via TVU, Dejero, LTN, The Switch, other traditional fiber, IP, satellite uplinks and downlinks
• Ability to produce special events remotes, such as hurricane coverage, political conventions, Primaries/Caucuses, debates, election coverage and other breaking news and special events

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• College degree
• 3+ years experience in television transmission or operations or television news producing/newsgathering, with transmission/operations/routing experience
• Ability to work various shifts including weekends

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficiency in transmission scheduling software, IP based routing/transmission, LiveU/TVU/Dejero/fiber transmission routing/operations
• Knowledge of network and local news operations and workflows
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to multitask, troubleshoot quickly and efficiently and handle pressure in a live news environment
• Local or network TV news producer experience with transmission/operations knowledge/skills
• Broadcast operations technician experience with news editorial knowledge/skills

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 67,100.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
