Job Description
KPIX – CBS News Bay Area is looking for an Associate Director to support a series of daily breaking news-centric live productions.

The candidate we're looking for is a phenomenal communicator, has strong organizational skills, and thrives in a breaking news environment. The Associate Director plays an important role in supporting daily production. The candidate will be working on a fast-paced live production with a heavy rotation of national and local reporters. A successful candidate must have sound technical skills and communicate clearly with the show director to ensure live production needs and standards are met.

JOB FUNCTION:
• Open lines of communication with the Show Director ensuring upcoming needs of the production are understood.
• Point person liaising the control room with TOC ensuring upcoming live remotes are routed accurately and audio/video quality standards are met.
• Assist director in last-minute ELC coding of added stories and elements.
• Review production elements sent to the control room before air.
• Experience working with Alert the production team when elements sent to air are incorrect or fail to meet broadcast standards.
• Manage the recording of pre-produced segments using Sony ELC during the hours leading up to the show and dropping them into the iNews rundown.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven experience in live news production is required.
• Previous Control Room Automation experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities a must.
• Excellent people and communication skills are needed.
• Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills are a must.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $86,000.00 - 110,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary Details
Salary Range: $86,000 to $110,000 Per Year ($ USD)
