Job Description
CBS Sacramento is looking for a full-time Weekend Evening / Digital Meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather Team! We're seeking a dynamic and passionate meteorologist with strong storytelling skills who can deliver compelling weather coverage across all platforms, including CBS13's ''Getting Answers'' and ''First Alert Weather'' brands.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver weekend evening weather forecasts on-air and across all digital platforms.
• Create engaging, informational weather content for CBS News Sacramento's digital platforms, including the 24/7 CBS Stream.
• Assist the Chief Meteorologist during the week with various responsibilities around forecast updates, graphical support, etc.
• Provide live weather updates during the week, primarily for the Noon, 4:30 & 5:30 p.m. newscast.
• Provide in-studio and field coverage during special events and significant weather events, collaborating closely with the team for comprehensive, community-driven, real-time reporting.
• Maintain a strong presence on social media by producing compelling weather-related content and engaging with viewers.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule and fill in for other meteorologists as needed.
• Communicate weather information conversationally and confidently across all platforms, making complex meteorological concepts accessible to all audiences.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, or a related field.
• Strong on-camera presence with demonstrated experience in live and pre-recorded formats.
• Expertise in social media engagement and digital content creation.
• Ability to efficiently navigate breaking weather situations with composure and clarity.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of WSI MAX and experience with TV weather graphics systems.
• Knowledge of MAX suite of products such as Max Storm, Prism, Velocity, Engage, Alert Live
• Field reporting experience
• AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) or National Weather Association (NWA) Seal preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 - 100,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
