Overview & Responsibilities:

247Sports is a digital enterprise focused on delivering original college sports and recruiting news on a team-by-team basis to passionate sports fans across the world through a spectrum of platforms. 247Sports is part of Streaming CBS Digital Media -- a portfolio of premium digital sports media properties including CBSSports.com, MaxPreps and SportsLine -- is consistently ranked a top-three sports property, reaching more than 70M sports fans monthly across desktop, mobile, and connected TV devices.

We are looking for a team member at our market-leading Alabama site who is passionate and knowledgeable about college football, college basketball, recruiting and other college sports. The ideal candidate is a grinder who works well in a team environment and has strong writing and reporting skills. In this role, you play a key part in our coverage – providing content for our fans and our premium subscribers along with interacting with them on our message boards. The ideal candidate would live in or near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in order to be close to campus events, news conferences, cover games, etc.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
• Report and provide free and premium written updates on college football, college basketball, recruiting and other Crimson Tide athletic teams
• Cover collegiate football games, basketball games and other key events throughout the year to gather unique content for our users and subscribers.
• Write updates and breaking news on former Alabama athletes that would still be of interest to Bama fans.
• Contribute to national features such as roundtables, opponent profiles and other collaborative pieces.
• Post on team site message board communities and interact with fans by providing news, analysis and insight on Alabama athletics and recruiting.
• Build relationships and develop sources to provide premium information and break news.
• Provide original and quality team content to help grow the audience and message board community.
• Work with the national editorial team to provide comprehensive coverage on national news.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience covering and reporting on a Power 5 athletics program
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, communications, electronic media, or related field
• Must be able to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends
• Experience in multimedia platforms such as on-camera video and podcasting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

Additional Qualifications:
• Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok
• Experience on camera for video features around football and basketball coverage

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $45,000.00 - 65,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
