60 Minutes is seeking a Video Editor for 60MinutesOvertime.com. An editor for this team creates mid-form stories geared towards digital audiences on a variety of platforms. Using content and material from 60 Minutes story shoots and archives, this teammate will help craft stories that are polished, smooth, and graceful. In this role they collaborate with a team to enhance storytelling, provide context, and ensure fairness. The ideal candidate will deeply engage with interviews and B-roll, pitching creative ideas and executions, while understanding and respecting the styles and standards of 60 Minutes. Further responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Edit additional story-related material for social media.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards for use of picture and sound.
• Consult with camera crews prior to shoots when needed.
• Work efficiently under deadline.
• Stay current with new recording formats and file delivery methods.
• Adhere to 60 Minutes media management and archiving policies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum five years editing with Avid Media Composer in the workplace.
• Experiences editing long or mid-form stories.
• Available for nights and weekends, as the 60 Minutes production schedule requires.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION:
• Experience with Sony Ci.
• Adobe Media Encoder, Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects.
• Excellent communication and time-management.
• Able to admit mistakes, learn from them, and receive constructive criticism. 60 Minutes is a team shop, and our collaboration and debate makes our work better.
• Able to interact professionally and respectfully with all staff at every level.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 - 100,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
