Manager, Stage Operations

Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

The Manager, Stage Operations is responsible for the management of all Studio production facilities and departments at CBS Studio Center including stage operations, stage support, on-lot locations and production storage.

PRODUCTION FACILITIES:
• Work with Production Operations VP in marketing production facilities (stages and on-lot locations).
• Arrange scouts of facilities.

STAGE SPACE:
• Schedule production and on-lot site rental.
• Maintain stage utilization production records.

STAGE SUPPORT:
• Dressing rooms, make-up/hair, scene dock
• Provide dressing rooms and make-up/hair rooms to production companies.
• Distribute stage support building floor plans.
• Coordinate overhead jobs for Stage Support room renovation and reconfiguration.

SCENE DOCK and PRODUCTION STORAGE:
• Oversee assignment of scene dock and production storage areas.
• Resolve logistical issues.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs.

ON-LOT LOCATIONS:
• Oversee assignment of on-lot locations.
• Resolve logistical issues.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs.

PRODUCTION SUPPORT:
• Manage the day to day activities:

o Liaison with production designers

o Set construction

o Art department

o Paint and sign shop

o Craft service

o Special effects

o Studio transportation

o Greens

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent working experience in related environment.
• Minimum ten years experience working experience in the entertainment industry.
• Prior experience in construction and/or facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of entertainment industry standards and practices relating to production company requirements in areas managed.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and local code and regulations; OSHA, public assembly, fire safety.
• In-depth knowledge of IATSE and Basic Crafts contracts in areas managed.
• Strong PC skills in a local area network environment with Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook mandatory.
• Ability to prepare budgets, forecast expense, control job costs.
• Knowledge of Studio physical plant and operating department functions.
• Strong inter-personal skills - heavy client contact and interface with Studio operating departments.
