The Role

BuzzFeed is searching for a part-time photo contractor to assist the editorial team for BuzzFeed.com. This person in this role will handle photo requests from staff writers, purchase from photo agencies, and approve photo usage on BuzzFeed.com. Applicants should expect to yield requests from writers in a prompt manner via our internal messaging system, work with outside vendors to source images and track all photo usage accordingly. The ideal candidate is on the pulse of trending photo needs, including pop culture, entertainment, and celebrity features. Experience working with photo agencies and sourcing hard-to-find images is required.

This is a project-based/freelance role with the possibility of an extension in either the New York or Los Angeles offices or remotely. It is available to start immediately. This role is ideal for someone able to work in PST, preferably sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST.

You Have
• An eye for all things photo
• 1 or more years of experience
• High emotional intelligence
• Extremely organized and efficient
• The ability to take the perspective of others
• Experience working with photo agencies
• Highly proficient in Slack + remote workflows
• Experience tracking down hard-to-source photos
• Experience working with digital asset management teams a plus
• A positive, curious, playful disposition (no haters)
