DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Red Sox Foundation is one of the largest team charities in Major League Baseball, strategically using its platform to be a leading source of hope and positivity off the field in the areas of health, education and recreation. By coupling our year-round, direct-service programming with our grant-making initiatives and core partnerships, we utilize a unique model as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization to effectively triple our impact in New England and Lee County, Florida. POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Program Coordinator will be primarily responsible for coordinating the execution of the Red Sox Foundation's direct service programming. This role will be responsible for working collaboratively with our Programs Team to deliver our youth baseball & softball programming while acting as a positive youth mentor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Help to execute Play Ball events by providing instruction to other clinicians and youth.
• Maintain operational and logistical requirements, including but not limited to, travel throughout New England, registration, and time management.
• Assist Red Sox Foundation (RSF) staff with the execution of other youth baseball & softball programming, including Jr. RBI and RBI league play and other initiatives as needed.
• Collaborate with RSF staff to ensure all youth baseball and softball participants, including coaches and leagues, are compliant with Red Sox Foundation standards and requirements.
• Assist with virtual youth baseball and softball programming, including but not limited to, updating content on all website platforms, sharing new content, and monitoring impressions.
• Assist with programmatic events including planning, setup, execution, and post event follow-up tasks.
• Work in collaboration with RSF Programs Team to measure the effectiveness of our youth baseball and softball programming.
• Assist the Foundation's Development Team with any in-park, game and event day responsibilities, as needed.

CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in non-profit development and/or events, with a strong passion and desire to build a career in charitable and community outreach.
• Self-starter with the ability to work in fast-paced, unstructured and frequently changing environments.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish and English).
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic and desire to support youth and families in our communities.
• Strong teamwork, organization, communication, and group facilitation skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from a variety of backgrounds.
• General knowledge of baseball and softball rules and/or coaching experience with youth sports preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Travel includes in and out of the state of Massachusetts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
