Job Description
Designs, evolves and documents DevOps patterns in support of current and future Architecture requirements. Facilitates technical conversations between DevOps, Architecture and Development teams to align and support Business strategy. Monitors key performance metrics to ensure the DevOps infrastructure is capable of meeting them. Maintains knowledge of new industry used tools and techniques and recommends updates to management.
LOCATION
Location: Remote (TN). Candidate must reside in the Middle Tennessee area.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Facilitates collaboration between DevOps, Architecture and Development teams.
• Designs, documents and evolves DevOps patterns based on architecture and business direction.
• Collaborates and informs network teams around cloud security best practices and requirements.
• Supports DevOps team around best practices and thoughtful pattern changes.
• Analyzes emerging technologies and makes recommendations for efficiency and process improvements.
• Performs and supports proof of concepts and provides report findings.
• Develops automation scripts to manage Azure cloud environment.
• Governs change control process standards and methodologies.
• Defines and reviews quality and testing standards for software and infrastructure build and deployments.
• Performs user training and guidance to DevOps and Development teams to ensure compliance to defined architectural standards.
• Provides regular verbal and written status reports to management.
• Creates, maintains, and presents technical documentation to different audiences and levels.
• Evaluates and adopts new tools to improve build release processes.
• Ensures the completeness of all required documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or Math or equivalent industry experience.
Experience: Eight (8) years DevOps or related experience. Three (3) years managing cloud infrastructure.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Expert experience with automation scripts that enable management of the Azure/Cloud environment(s).
• Hands-on experience working as a DevOps Engineer.
• Expert experience with build and deployment systems such as Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, scripting languages such as Power Shell, Gulp and other build and deployment scripting languages.
• Expert experience with standard source control systems (GIT and TFVC).
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment of best practices.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, TeamCity and Terraform is preferred.
• Agile software development methodologies.
• Must possess ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Must be a team player who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication, including a willingness to occasionally work in a pair-programming environment.
• Must possess strong analytical and technical documentation skills.
• Must possess ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Experience with distributed systems or a large enterprise background is preferred.
• Must have an excellent understanding and hands-on experience with design and development best practices.
• Detail orientation and strong attention to detail.
• Must have progressive achievement in job history.
• Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends, when required.
• Understanding of SDLC automation concepts such as continuous integration.
SALARY RANGE
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
