SVP - Physical Production, Features

A successful candidate will be innovative, self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, thorough, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail. The SVP is expected to lead a team of people and manage the workload efficiently. That includes managing through effective delegation, clear communication, and staff development.

The SVP will work with producers, directors, writers, and internal Blumhouse departments to ensure allocated resources are deployed to maximize production efficiencies while supporting the creative vision. They must be experienced in working within a lower cost model and seek out and develop innovative techniques to optimize production budgets.

This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires someone with a positive ''can do'' attitude who is and able to exercise good judgment and initiative. This position reports into the Head of Physical Production.

Responsibilities
• Take point on / supervise all aspects of physical production for feature length projects including but not limited to production planning, crew staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and physical production.
• Consult with Head of Physical Production in hiring the Line Producer for the film and subsequently oversee the LP and UPM in every aspect of the execution of their duties
• Work closely with the Blumhouse internal departments including the Creative Team, Finance, Production Finance, Business & Legal Affairs, Post-Production, Marketing and Casting.
• Work closely with the Head of Physical Production and Creative Team and with directors, producers and key crew members to ensure an efficient and cost-effective production process for all parties and to successfully realize the creative and financial objective for each project.
• Help draft and publish initial production budgets, schedules, and planning documents.
• Troubleshoot and communicate all changes to the schedule and budget to internal/external teams
• Resolve budgetary issues while maintaining the creative integrity of the film.
• Supervision and management of staff, including assigned production executives and support staff.
• Review all production documents including Production Reports, Hot Costs, and Cost Reports.
• Stay abreast of tax incentives, credits and film crew availability.
• Stay abreast of new developing digital production technologies, workflows, and equipment.
• Travel both domestically and internationally when required.
• Meet with, vet, and build relationships with potential BTL hires, including Line Producers, various production related vendors, and production services companies.

Requirements
• BA/BS Degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years experience in producing or production management in the field or at a major studio.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment simultaneously supervising several projects in various points of production (from development through delivery)
• Adept at anticipating potential issues, identifying problems, recommending and implementing solutions
• Familiar with the current trends and workflows within the industry
• Team-player who operates in a fast-paced team-oriented setting
• Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
• Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task
• Proficiency in Movie Magic Budgeting & Scheduling,
