JOB DESCRIPTION

The Big Ten Network (BTN) is seeking a full-time Motion Graphic Designer based in Chicago, IL. The Motion Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing and maintaining the live production elements and executing designs from in-house and external sources for live on-air and other projects determined by the Senior Director, Graphics. You will also be tasked with creating multiple versions of existing graphics based upon existing templates to enhance existing programs.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Being detail oriented to manage projects through the production workflow
• Projects include but not limited to:
• Design specialty broadcast graphics for live events and studio programming including monitors and backdrops
• Design on-air templates within the Vizrt system workflow for linear events, studio programs, and B1G+ events
• Maintain the day-to-day operations of our live on-air events – creating event specific elements, updating statistics, and other elements determine by the coordinating producers
• Be responsible for the workflow of the various platforms to maintain consistency and make sure new elements are added
• Work with counterparts at FOX to add new coding and scripts as necessary
• • Receive and understand creative and technical feedback
• Work with the Senior Director of Graphics and the Graphics Producer on new projects
• Demonstrate ability to meet strategic deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Receive creative and technical feedback and deliver creative feedback within the team
• Communicate with operators to make sure they need everything ahead of time

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 2+ years in the broadcast design or related design field
• Experience as a lead designer on broadcast branding package
• Ability to multitask to manage multiple projects at the same time to meet multiple approval timelines
• Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends as well as remotely or in-person
• Work in a collaborative environment and independently
• Strong knowledge of live sports production related techniques and broadcast graphic systems
• Knowledge and understanding of Big Ten collegiate sports and graphics

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
• Undergraduate degree in design, graphics or broadcast related fields
• Familiarity with Macintosh software
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Adobe Premiere and Adobe InDesign experience
• Broadcast technology platforms
• Vizrt Artist, Hub design, and scripting knowledge
