Who You Are
You are an experienced Houdini Muscle artist with a passion for crafting compelling visual narratives that reinforce and enhance the shot's setting and elements. You have a strong understanding of anatomical principles in order to create functional and photoreal creature simulations.
You are capable of communication within your team and collaborating with other departments. You have a strong creative vision and want to contribute those skills to a growing team and company.
What You'll Do
• Work closely with the CG Supervisor, Asset Supervisor, and lead rigging artist to create high-quality 3D muscle systems and associated simulations.
• Create a broad range of functional muscle systems, from humanoid creatures to quadrupedal animals.
• Ability to execute muscle simulations on animated creature assets.
• Ability to accurately plan and estimate workload
• Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to confirm task direction and ensure consistency of work within the team
What You Bring
• 4+ years of professional experience as an artist in the VFX industry
Advanced knowledge of Houdini Muscle for developing muscle systems on a variety of creatures and executing muscle simulations.
• A strong understanding of muscular anatomy.
• A strong understanding of art fundamentals
• Ability to work collaboratively, with strong verbal and written communication skills
• A solid portfolio demonstrating experience in the creation of high-quality, high-resolution 3D creature assets with static and simulated muscle systems.
• Proven ability to work within a team environment
• Knowledge of virtual production integration for film and television
About This Role
This is a remote based role. Project and staff positions available with extended health benefits and opportunity to participate in RRSP programs. Note: At this time we are only accepting applications from those artists legally eligible to work in Canada.
