Who You Are
You are an experienced Compositing Supervisor, ready to jump into an exciting studio environment with a wide variety of projects. You have demonstrated experience supervising teams in a VFX production pipeline but are comfortable working on the box. You are able to work with a producer to bid shots and the ability to design workflows and estimate artist time and tasks from script, concept and/or video references. You have a strong creative vision and want to contribute those skills to a growing team and company.
What You'll Do
Process (60%)
• Reporting to VFX Show Supervisor; lead a team of compositors across one or more projects and locations.
• Provide strong creative and technical direction supervising shot creation and finishing.
• Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor, VFX Producers, Coordinators, to implement and execute clients' vision to the highest standards.
• Coordinate internal departments to assign tasks under tight deadlines and fast turnaround times.
• Maintaining quality and consistency
• Work on-the-box / on shots; troubleshooting and providing shot set ups.
Pioneering (10%)
• Identify and implement ongoing departmental tools and ongoing improvement plans to meet show (and studio) objectives.
People (20%)
• Supervise and coach Compositing team around expectations; set standards and benchmarks
• Identify strengths and mentor compositors for internal growth and development
What You Bring
• 7+ years working in a VFX studio environment
• 2+ years in Supervisory/ Leadership role on high end VFX
• Expert Nuke/NukeX, Mocha Pro, Photoshop. After Effects, CG and additional software packages are a plus.
• Intermediate-Expert with Flow (formerly Shotgrid) management software.
• Strong artistic aptitude for shot composition, design, element creation, and/or look development for sequences, as well as the ability to create templates for other artists to use.
• Solid understanding of both feature film and television VFX production pipelines
• Demonstrated grace under pressure in a fast changing environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptability, problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience clarifying and communicating client notes for Leads and artists under your direction.
• Must demonstrate an up-to-date reel / portfolio and resume showcasing requirements
