Overview:

WKRK 92.3 The Fan, Cleveland's top-rated sports talk station, is seeking an enthusiastic On-Air Host to join our dynamic, high-performing broadcast team. This position is ideal for a passionate sports fan who can engage with Cleveland's sports culture and adapt to evolving technologies while delivering exceptional programming both on-air and off-air.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

As an On-Air Host, you will:
• Prepare and deliver engaging, entertaining on-air broadcasts across multiple dayparts
• Produce and record sports segments.
• Gather, write, record, edit, and deliver sports content, including live coverage during breaking news.
• Interview key sports figures and experts.
• Write scripts and ad-lib content to create compelling stories.
• Develop and research potential sports stories.
• Safeguard the station's FCC license.
• Make station appearances as required.
• Collaborate with sales and promotions teams to create sponsored sports opportunities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required:
• Proven experience hosting a successful sports talk show or equivalent experience (e.g., live internet shows or podcasts).
• Ability to seamlessly integrate live interviews with station and external audio clips.
• Strong knowledge of sports teams, players, and statistics, with an energetic and contemporary on-air delivery.
• Thorough understanding of Cleveland's sports scene and local audience demographics.

Preferred:
• Creative, sports-driven enthusiast with a unique point of view.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in a broadcast environment.
• Strong networking skills to build a network of contacts for sports news and programming.
• Experience researching and developing relevant sports topics and stories.
