Overview

Audacy Kansas City is looking for a General Sales Manager to join our leadership team. Joining Audacy Kansas City team means working with the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, Kansas City Royals, 98,9 The Rock, Kansas City News Leader, KMBZ FM, 610Sports Radio and more. We are seeking a proven leader that possesses command, swagger and accomplishment by motivating a team in a collaborative environment. The perfect candidate must have a passion for sales, sports sales, music, digital media, podcasts and innovation. The person in this role will help influence the revenue growth of our highly influential radio stations and sports networks by motivating our team to grow existing clients and hunt for new business. Self-motivation and collaborative communication is essential.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

Primary Responsibilities:
• Strong sales leader and have the skill and drive to motivate a team in today's changing (and semi-remote) environment, inspire a sales team to success and contribute innovative ideas to generate revenue
• Responsible for exceeding revenue objectives by impacting team of sellers and clients.
• Hold sales team accountable to all priorities, managing through internal direct reporting relationships and peer groups to drive results
• Develop, refine, and maintain discipline on a focused overall sales strategy, with specific measurable tactics and actions that generate sales & revenue
• Coach and lead the sales team to success by leaning in, providing support and removing the obstacles that might exist
• Ability to lead and train sales team in evolving media trends- including but not limited to - digital audio, attribution, data, sponsorships
• Develop and grow relationships with clients through both individual and joint meetings with Account Executives, and develop a deep understanding of their needs in the marketplace
• Leverage our data, scale and resources to guide sound management and operational decision-making across the sales organization
• Monitor competition and trends in the market
• People first manager, capable to managing and motivating direct reports to drive best results
• Experience effectively utilizing Salesforce and Google Workspace
• High work intensity with the ability to manage various projects and products pro-actively, and deliver quality results on or before deadlines
• Highly skilled negotiator

Qualifications

Required & Preferred:
• Minimum 4+ years in leadership role in either sports, media, radio, digital, social, marketing/advertising
• Must be goal-driven and creative, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong background in Strategic Account Management, sales training/leadership and creating connections through networking and community organizations
• 4-year degree
• A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
