Position Description:

The Atlanta Hawks marketing team is responsible for the strategy, planning, operations, and execution of all revenue and brand marketing initiatives for 4 brands including the Atlanta Hawks, State Farm Arena, College Park Skyhawks, and Hawks Talon Gaming Club. This group facilitates the development and execution of world-class campaigns and content and leverages various marketing channels to connect and motivate fans in order to drive ticket sales, achieve corporate partner objectives and drive generational brand affinity.

The Director of Digital Marketing will be responsible for bringing a world-class digital experience to fans at all touchpoints from consideration, to purchase, experience and retention. The ideal candidate is a data-driven storyteller that connects the analytics dots across owned and paid channels to ensure an optimal fan experience. This role will primarily oversee the strategy, execution, and optimization of digital channels including website, email, and mobile app, and lead marketing strategy and execution for affiliate leagues.

Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of 3 responsible for web development, email strategy and execution, mobile app content, and affiliate league marketing.
• Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to achieve sales, viewership, and social engagement goals and increase brand affinity for College Park Skyhawks and Hawks Talon GC.
• Develop a plan to grow digital and mobile footprint across all 4 brands by growing opt-in databases for direct marketing and app, viewership on websites, and introducing enhancements to existing channels and new consumer-facing technologies
• Develop and implement direct marketing strategies and manage an external email marketing agency responsible for the building and deployment of emails across all 4 brands.
• Partner with analytics and internal marketing teams to thoughtfully and consistently analyze data across paid and owned channels and draw marketing insights, develop testing strategies, and a reporting cadence of key insights and recommendations for optimization.
• Develop strategies for email customers and multi-touch journeys and partner with the revenue enablement department to implement.
• Develop season ticket member onboarding and retention strategies.
• Leverage paid social and marketing automation systems to better nurture leads and increase conversion rates.
• Continuously innovate to find new ways to connect and motivate fans.

Required Experience & Knowledge:
• Proven track record of successfully developing and executing digital marketing plans from conception to implementation.
• Ability to lead within a fast-paced environment and deliver amidst demanding timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
• Experience leading marketing and digital agencies.
• Experience with analyzing marketing analytics and developing optimization strategies across paid and owned channels.
• Ability to organize and oversee multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Extensive understanding of digital marketing technologies.
• Extensive experience developing digital solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Independent, self-motivated, data-driven, and innovative.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

EXPERIENCE:
• At least 8+ years of experience managing digital marketing on the agency or client-side, with a heavy emphasis on innovative platforms and digital analytics.
• At least 6+ years of experience within the sports, entertainment, advertising agency, or media industries
• At least 6+ years of experience working with digital agencies
• At least 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree required - Advanced degree a plus
• Sports and entertainment industry experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work non-traditional hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
