Job summary
The Global Programming Strategy team owns content programming and release strategy for Prime Video, employing a deep understanding of distinct audience cohorts, content analytics, production timelines, and supply constraints to deliver a customer-obsessed streaming slate.

The group drives the creation of Prime Video's original and licensed content portfolio, and crafts the release schedule, all with the mission of delighting customers worldwide. The team focuses on strategic audience priorities to identify areas of opportunity in both the near- and long-term, ultimately directing our development and licensing pipelines to suit customer needs.

We are seeking a Sr. Programming Strategy Manager to be a leader in driving our US/Global portfolio strategy.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop data-driven audience insights that enable us to better serve new and existing customers, then leverage these insights to drive optimization across the entire Prime Video portfolio
• Articulate programming needs to Creative Development, Content Licensing, and IP teams, and surface projects that are best-suited to address them, while also advising on content areas in which teams should strive to widen our pipeline of available options
• Evaluate opportunities across the entirety of the Prime Video marketplace (e.g. Prime Video, IMDB TV, Channels, TVOD), using both a strategic and editorial lens to assess how they serve an audience need
• Collaborate with the team's Release Strategy members to build and co-lead cross-functional mechanisms and processes that align on the best release dates for our series
• Drive highly-analytical projects and develop global frameworks and mechanisms that advance our programming and audience strategy
• Author a Quarterly Business Review that updates Amazon leadership and a broad set of stakeholders on ideological advancements in our programming strategy and provides near- and long-term recommendations on business and content decisions
• Collaborate with regional and local Programming Strategy leads to ensure that our US/Global slate's impact is maximized across the world

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree
• 6+ years of experience in Content Programming, Strategy, or Marketing within a major media or technology company or, alternatively, in Investment Banking or Management Consulting
• Extensive experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects
• Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex business concepts, weigh strategic tradeoffs, and look around corners to identify creative solutions
• Excellent quantitative skills and extensive experience with modeling (Excel) and data analyses
• Excellent writing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in the TV or Film industries
• Experience working alongside Creative Development
• Expertise in data mining, management, and reporting, as well as SQL queries
• Deep-seated passion for TV and Film
