Job summary
Amazon Prime Video, India is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader for the development of its Tamil Original Series. The candidate should have significant development and production experience, a track record of success in creating content strategy based on customer insights, engaging audiences with powerful stories and powerful ideas, developing series/movies and growing teams, deep relationships with the Indian, especially Tamil talent - writers, directors, actors and the wider creative community and a passion for innovation.
The role will have responsibility for understanding the target audience based on research, building a pipeline of concepts, and shows by working with talent and the creative community. The role will also work with the Amazon studios team in LA and leverage their learning/expertise. The candidate will be joining a self-motivated, passionate and collaborative team environment. This position will be Chennai based.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• A proven track record of story-telling by developing successful films or shows either as an independent consultant, or in a studio or as part of a customer-facing media company.
• Strong interest and knowledge about content development and production
• 10+ years of experience in a creative role understanding consumers and creating content
• Proven ability in identifying trends in consumer content preferences, analyzing viewership data and high pressure environments
• Excellent relationship management, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to a quickly changing, fast-paced environment
• Strong working relationships with Indian creative community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Good track record in growing and managing teams
• Graduate degree in Film or a robust background of TV series development experience
• Creative, frugal approach to problem solving
• Knowledge of digital video landscape
