Producer, (Consumer Investigative) - GMA, ABC News

Good Morning America is hiring a Producer for the consumer / investigative unit to join a team dedicated to producing high-quality content in a fast-paced, exciting environment. Producers work within all areas of GMA and ABC News including the field, graphics, editing and as part of the editorial team as a whole.

What You Will Do:

This position is responsible for crafting both day-of-air consumer segments and longer-term impactful investigations that will air in both hours of the broadcast. This role encompasses all areas of production from pitching outstanding story ideas, to booking characters and experts, to writing and editing laser-focused segments that enrich our viewers' lives with new and relevant consumer information. This job may require some travel and candidates will be encouraged to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend hours as well as holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Outstanding writing skills, impeccable news judgment, significant field experience, and deep knowledge in research, consumer laws and undercover investigations.
• Candidates must be self-sufficient, have excellent communication skills, and work in conjunction with the standards and legal teams of ABC News.
• High proficiency in an edit room setting while working creatively under extreme deadlines. Attention to detail in every part of the producing process – from conception of idea to final edited piece – is an absolute must.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a local or network investigative or consumer unit is helpful.

Education:
• BA or BS from a four-year accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $104,200- $143,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
