Job Description
ABC News Live is seeking a New York-based Associate Producer to join its weekend and weekday teams. This role requires a candidate who can generate story ideas, source and edit video, exhibit sound news judgment, and thrive under tight deadlines. The Associate Producer will play a critical role in covering breaking news, keeping content fresh, and ensuring a high standard of quality across all segments and platforms. This position is 100% on-site in New York and requires weekend availability.
Responsibilities:
• Assist producers in gathering and editing video for breaking news coverage, live segments, VOs, VO/SOTs, and PKGs.
• Communicate effectively with on-air talent both in the studio and in the field, providing real-time updates and resolving issues as they arise.
• Pitch, research, and produce compelling stories and engaging guest segments.
• Work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced control room environment.
• Demonstrate initiative by producing content independently while also contributing collaboratively to the team.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a digital, streaming, or broadcast environment.
• Proficiency in non-linear editing software.
• Familiarity with INews and the current digital live-streaming landscape.
• Strong video production skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capacity to work independently as well as within a team.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, overnights, and weekends, while thriving under daily deadline pressure.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in TV/Film/Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $59,100 to $81,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
