Work Locations: With the exception of some select roles that have in-office requirements, A+E Networks operates on a flexible model that allows for remote, hybrid or full time in office work (in certain locales).
Office locations include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Stamford, CT.

Job Description

The core responsibility of this role is to maximize revenues from the distribution of a 17,000-hour factual library, growing by 1,200 new hours each year and from the distribution of a TV movie, scripted and format catalogue. The catalogue includes the majority of content commissioned by 3 of the top 10 cable television channels in the US, History, Lifetime and A&E Networks as well as locally commissioned content from A+E's international channels. This role will plan, direct, and execute program sales activities for the A+E International division within assigned territories, while understanding the territory distribution may vary from time to time.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Achieve the annual sales budget in the allocated territories.
• Manage the negotiation and closing of deals with television broadcasters, platforms, and producers in order to expand distribution and increase sales for owned and acquired content across the allocated territories.
• Develop strategies to grow the business across the allocated territories, including benchmarking against competitors in business results, processes, and structures.
• Serve to establish and enhance relationships with the allocated territories broadcasters, platforms, and producers, with intention of maximizing potential sales of the company's content.
• In coordination with sales support, distribution, and marketing, conceive, develop and implement product-packaging strategies that maximize incremental revenue opportunities.
• Drive AETN revenues from new market streams.
• Develop strong relationships with key executives and administrators internally as well as others related to the company's interests and operations on an international basis, including Channels, Programming, Consumer Products, Marketing, etc.
• Monitor the marketplace for changes that affect sales activities, both directly and indirectly.
• Inform customers of upcoming A&E Corporate events, product programs and services.
• Follow up with clients on requests and co-ordinate solutions to contract/distribution issues where required.
• Manage the commercial relationship with key clients and work to maximize the long-term profitability in these territories.
• Utilize research effectively and provide creative and marketing input, as required, in order to establish the best possible sales strategies.
• Attend relevant industry events including MIPTV and MIPCOM, individual client meetings and territory trips where required.
• Record activity within A+E Rights Management and CRM or other similar systems.

The candidate will be an experienced executive with direct sales responsibility looking for a new challenge. They will have an outstanding track record in administration and the ability to take a strategic view of the business in each market and across the region. In addition, this person will be an expert deal-creator and will have the ability to drive sales directly in key markets. It is important that this person is used to working cross culturally and has the ability to adapt to local market conditions, adding value to the complexity and establishing positive relationships across the region. As a manager in a matrixed role, this person must be able to exert influence and achieve success not only through leadership and sales ability but also via persuasion, market knowledge, intellect, and personal relationships.
• 5+ years of proven experience at an international content distributor.
• Demonstrates the ability to make a high volume of sales.
• Working knowledge of the television and/or film business.
• Knowledge of multiple languages a plus.
• A strategic and independent thinker.
• Robust, strong political and diplomatic ability.
• Able to build strategic alliances externally and internally.
• Talented at developing relationships and building trust – leading to results.
• Keeps the region's strategy responsive to market changes
• A conscientious communicator – promotes communication across the business, communicates clearly, engages others, articulates reasons for decisions, and is open to others' opinions.

Knowledge:
• Of A+E brands, programs and formats
• Of the market, economy and competitors within the markets
• Of the media industry and consumers, direct relationships with key programming executives in the allocated territories a plus
• Thorough knowledge of Licensing Agreements, Licensing language/terminology; Ability to manage and interpret television rights and contract detail.
• Full understanding of the sales environment and successful practices
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Compensation

Annual Pay Range: $115,675 - $135,339

Annual Incentive Target: 17.50%

The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills,
