Job Description
Minor League Video, Intern (2025 Season-Baseball Operations)The Washington Nationals are seeking Minor League Video Interns for all minor league affiliates (FCL, Low A, High A, AA, and AAA). The individual will capture video of every pitch with corresponding pitch type, pitch location, and at-bat result for home and away games. The position is also responsible for providing assistance with the distribution and organization of advance scouting reports. Prior video experience is not required, however, the Nationals are looking for accomplished individuals who have clearly demonstrated a passion for and familiarity with the game of baseball/softball.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Capture and log video for the minor league affiliate's home and road games during the regular season and playoffs (if applicable)
• Edit and prepare video for upload to servers
• Capture non-game video (bullpens, batting practice, early work, etc.)
• Operate approved technology including, but not limited to, TrackMan, Rapsodo, Edgertronic
• Assist coaches and players with video and data needs
• Collaborate and assist in preparation of advance scouting documents and video at assigned affiliate
• Various ad hoc video projects throughout season
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university
• Must be able to identify pitch types
• Available to cover all home and road games during the minor league season
• Willing to relocate to affiliate's home city for the regular season/playoffs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:
• Must demonstrate ability to be resourceful and dependable
• Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to work independently and on a deadline
• Great communication skills and ability to relate well with individuals with diverse backgrounds
• Excellent work ethic
• Familiarity with baseball-specific technologies (e.g. TrackMan, Rapsodo, HawkEye, BATS, Blast Motion) and the data outputted is preferred but not required
• Spanish speaking preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, R, Python, and/or SQL is preferred but not required
• Candidates should be highly motivated and professional at all times
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Ability to work in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue
• Work is performed in both an interior/office environment and outdoors where the employee will be exposed to prevailing weather conditions
• Typically required to climb up/down stairs and walk long distances
• Hours will include nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation:
The projected wage rate for this position is $17.50 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
