Universal Music Group 2025 Summer Internship Program: Verve Label Group (Onsite: NY)
Program Eligibility:
• Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States, pursing an undergraduate, graduate and/or law degree
• Graduating between Spring 2025 - Fall 2027
• Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city (We do not offer housing accommodations)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, OPT, etc.)
• Commit to 20 - 40 hours per week (based on individual business area)

Verve Label Group is comprised of some of the greatest label partner imprints in jazz, classical, indie-pop, and beyond including Verve Records, impulse!, Verve Forecast, Decca Records US, Deutsche Grammophon, and more. VLG is home to a diverse roster of artists including multi-GRAMMY® winner Jon Batiste, 2023 GRAMMY® Best New Artist Samara Joy, as well as Kurt Vile, Sarah Kinsley, Cody Fry, Andrea Bocelli, Madison Cunningham, and many more. VLG is also home to iconic legacy artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, and more
Marketing (Onsite: NY)
The Marketing department leads both frontline and catalog campaigns across all these labels.
How You'll Create:
-Organize assets: cataloging, labeling, distributing
-Schedule meetings, take notes, circulate agenda
-Communicate and work collaboratively across VLG departments including Digital Marketing, Sales, Press, A&R, Finance, and Production
-Develop creative assets where needed (social media graphics, one sheets, decks, video edits, etc.)
-Compile reports, marketing decks, release support recaps
Bring Your Vibe:
-Experience/interest in jazz, classical music
-Experience working in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere or Final Cut) in addition to mobile editing software for videos and static visuals
-Creative copywriting and editing for typos, grammar
-Analytical - ability to look at data sets and discern conclusions/inform strategy
Label Catalog (Onsite: NY)
Responsible for product creation and marketing of new recordings by Verve catalog artists, physical reissues, and all other catalog initiatives within Verve Label Group.
How You'll Create:
-Assist with the coordination of Verve's physical reissue series including Verve By Request, Acoustic Sounds and Verve Record Club.
- Help curate and coordinate the delivery of new streaming-audio catalog releases, including themed albums and playlists.
-Oversee a semester-long project focused on researching and populating a comprehensive database of key milestones, including artist and album anniversaries, birthdays, centennials and cultural moments for Verve Records.
-Assist with the social media calendars for key catalog artists including Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong in addition to generating catalog-specific content for Verve Records and Impulse Records socials.
-Handle administrative tasks associated with Verve's physical library of albums.
Bring Your Vibe:
-A deep appreciation for jazz music and familiarity with Verve's catalog and key catalog artists.
-Strong writing and proofreading skills, particularly for social media and marketing copy.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite for light design work were needed.
Press (Onsite: NY)
The press department generates media attention and manages public relations for artists across the Verve Label Group roster. This includes landing print & online features, video interviews, TV appearances, and more.
How You'll Create:
-Maintain/update publicity database and materials using Google Sheets, Constant Contact, and MuckRack
-Find & share relevant press clips of Verve Label Group artists
-Help compile daily press round-ups that are sent to Verve Staff covering key VLG releases
-Assist in coordinating in person press days in NYC & LA
-Attend artists' shows in NYC to manage guest lists/press
-Keep up with relevant industry/entertainment news
-Attend label and special events
-Help with requests for tickets and photo passes

-Excellent communication and writing skills
-Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Monday.com, Constant -Contact, Muckrack and Google Sheets
-Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful
-Excellent follow-through and attention to detail

-Excellent time management skills
