Universal Music Group 2025 Summer Internship Program: Corporate Opportunities: Creative (CA, NY, PA, TN)
Program Eligibility:
• Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States, pursing an undergraduate, graduate and/or law degree
• Graduating between Spring 2025 - Fall 2027
• Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city (We do not offer housing accommodations)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, OPT, etc.)
• Commit to 20 - 40 hours per week (based on individual business area)

Consumer Marketing: Audience Development (CA, NY, TN):
How You'll CREATE:
The audience development team is responsible for growing, engaging, and converting artist and label owned audiences. We develop and execute data acquisition strategies for artists and labels so they can get a better understanding of their superfans, keep their audiences up to date on ongoing projects, and most importantly drive streaming and revenue. The Audience Development team is a resource used by digital, ecommerce, catalog, international, and many other departments to complete their marketing plan.

Consumer Marketing: Marketing Strategy (CA):
How You'll CREATE:
The Marketing Strategy within the Global Consumer Marketing team works across music, merch and brand campaigns from the center in collaboration with the labels, Bravado, Fame House as well as other teams centrally to build and execute campaigns that drive audience growth, e-commerce sales and streams. We run marketing programs across Cultural Moments and Retail Moments as well as integrated and brand partnerships.
• Attend marketing team meetings and participate in creative brainstorming and strategy sessions across various projects
• Assist with building decks, proofreading artist/label/mgmt facing materials
• Research audiences for potential campaigns
• Assist with competitive analysis reports and other research projects as needed
• Take the lead on keeping the team informed on the latest news and updates in the music/media/advertising space
• Support the media and creative teams in proofing and distributing assets
• Assist with creation of campaign performance reports across various teams with an eye towards overall delivery cross-functionally

Consumer Marketing: Paid Media (CA/NY/PA):
How You'll CREATE:
The Consumer Marketing team at Universal Music Group is looking for an Intern for our in-house media team to support the team's media buying and strategy efforts. The Global Media Buying Team works across all UMG labels and Partner Labels to execute media buys, assist in media planning, analyze campaign performance to develop best practices and case studies, and guide and improve the strategy of the Digital Media teams.
• Collaborate on 3-5 learning goals for the summer
• Identify projects and tasks that are aligned with goals
• Join UMG label calls – help with agenda creation, note taking, media planning, and analysis.
• Collaborate with Measurement Team on new testing opportunities and develop a case study
• Execute a campaign from Planning Phase > Execution > Recap
• Create retargeting Audiences in FB/IG

Global Marketing: Artist Development (CA)
How You'll CREATE:
The Artist Development department sits within Universal's Global Marketing Team. Responsible for supporting UMG's global roster of development artists, identifying marketing opportunities, and building plans and activations accordingly. The team hosts international showcases for UMG's priority developing artists, managing DSP programs, and supports international A&R and artist collaborations.
• Brainstorm creative marketing ideas ahead of artist album releases
• Propose international marketing activations for local/ex-US artists
• Contribute to creative campaigns / artist strategies
• Suggest social ideas / support digital in creating rollouts
• Organize artist release schedules, timelines, and marketing activations
• Research and report on industry and digital trends
• Help maintain artist database, track new artist signings, and collect relevant information

How You'll CREATE
• Prepare daily and weekly marketing summaries and newsletter
• Analyze and report on streaming, sales, and marketing event
• Participate in weekly with label teams, and Universal staff globally
• Create, update, and maintain priority documents and external marketing pitch decks
• Work on assigned artists and projects at a global level
Ideal candidates will have:
• Working knowledge of Keynote, Canva, Adobe
• Ability to analyze data and clearly convey results
• Strong passion for music across all genres and a deep understanding of the modern global music landscape. Knowledge of popular culture and emerging trends, including short-form content platforms
Global Marketing: Partner Labels (CA)
How You'll CREATE
The Global Marketing/ Partner Label team works with all of the distributed labels like Disney, Concord, Roc Nation, Big Machine and more. The Global Marketing/ Partner Label team works with UMG Marketing teams all over the world to set up releases and execute marketing plans. Interns in this department would sit in on label marketing meetings, craft proposals for various marketing opportunities and attend label events.
