Job Description
Universal Music Group 2025 Summer Internship Program: Capitol Christian Music Group (Onsite: TN)Program Eligibility:
• Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States, pursing an undergraduate, graduate and/or law degree
• Graduating between Spring 2025 - Fall 2027
• Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city (We do not offer housing accommodations)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, OPT, etc.)
• Commit to 20 - 40 hours per week (based on individual business area)

Commercial Partnerships (Onsite: TN)
Our department oversees the relationships of our distributing partners and the label. The department monitors streaming strategy, maintenance, trends, and pitching to editorial playlists. The team works to ensure that each release is being cared for and successes are communicated to all distributing platforms to ensure the most top tier support editorially.
How You'll Create:
-Streaming & playlist reporting
-Gathering info for Hit List
-Playlist updates
-Playlist creation
-Streaming account marketing (Spotify Artist Pick, Pandora AMP)
-Assisting team with misc. needs

ReThink: Distribution & Label Services (Onsite: TN)
ReThink is our distribution & label services imprint serving a wide arrange of artist and small labels.
How You'll Create:
-Update Re:Think Website
-Build a templated Re:Think Release Post for Fridays
-Go into S4A and make sure the following week's releases are pitched
-Organizing Box folder into one format and archive any old assets by year (create a folder for each one)
-Make sure Asana dates and CP Grid dates align for Re:Think artists (6 weeks out)
-Make sure when we change dates in Asana, that WT task is also updated (it's manual)
-Short form content presentation/storyboard
-Create a Re:Think pitch document for curators
Research and Analysis
-Every Monday morning, checking UMBI to take notes on Re:Think partners previous weeks streaming metrics and compiling a simplified report (email) on key findings and potential opportunities for those partners
-Survey key partners audience to gather insights on demographics (age, location, etc.).
-Look for obvious plugs that we can make online (ex: on tik tok, there's a person who considers themselves to be a tastemaker for the genre to help discovery; can we make those connections)
Social Media & Digital Marketing
-Develop a short-form video content bank of posts from Re:Think partners
-Research and document social media best practices/strategy that Re:Think can use to advise partners

Motown Gospel/Tamla Marketing (Onsite: TN)
• Creating marketing plans
• Working on artist social media and rollout plans
• Assisting with label social media
• Finding content to drive awareness to the label and artists
• Reporting overall growth analytics
Bring Your Vibe:
Some Experience in video editing or graphic design
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, social platforms, Microsoft Word and Excel
A&R (CCMG lg + Motown gospel/Tamla) (Onsite: TN)
Will work for the A&R departments on both the Capitol CMG label group as well as the Motown Gospel and Tamla labels. The A&R teams lead the way in scouting, signing, and overseeing relationships with our artist rosters. This position will report to a Director of A&R and will help scouting and coordinating next steps with potential new artists.
How You'll Create:
• Scout and identify potential new talent through various sources (social media, industry networks, etc)
• Act as initial contact/liaison between artists and A&R dept.
• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with artist roster and managers, as well as A&R dept
• Use research data and industry network to find potential new artists
• Keep A&R teams updated and data current on artist trackers
• Other tasks as delegated
Bring Your Vibe:
Experience and working knowledge of social media platforms
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google Docs (sheets, docs, etc.)
Very clear and concise communication skills
Knowledge of current music landscape – knows what's hot in Christian music specifically and can scout for up-and-coming artists
