Job Description

Responsibilities
NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 San Diego Internships provide students with real world experience and exposure to working in television industry. Internships at NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 are paid and do not require course credit.

Application Periods
Summer – Apply online between Feb 1 and March 31. Candidates selected by April 30.
Fall – Apply online between May 1 and June 30. Candidates selected by July 31.
Winter/Spring – Apply online between September 1 and October 31. Candidates selected by November 30.

Job Duties
• Work with broadcast equipment and learn skills in network engineering, broadcast
Engineering, audio visual information storage and playout and general IT activities.
• Assist with operations in the technical production of station news shows
• Monitor and coordinate incoming service requests
• Manage basic client requests from start to finish
• Maintain superior communication with clients
• Perform routine maintenance on a regular basis
• Complete administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
• Current class standing of Sophomore or above
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with good grammar
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Operation Systems, MS Office applications
• Highly proficient with computers (PC required, MAC a plus)
• A team player with strong attention to detail
• Someone who can work independently and takes pride in what they create
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Operation Systems, MS Office applications
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• The ability to work at the San Diego station
