NBCUniversal Local is NBCUniversal's local media division that delivers English and Spanish-speakers and bilingual audiences in 31 US markets and Puerto Rico, the very best in local sports, news, weather, consumer and investigative reporting, and lifestyle entertainment across any platform and screen. NBC & Telemundo Connecticut Internships provide students with real-world experience and exposure to working in the television news industry. NBC & Telemundo Connecticut internships are paid and do not require course credit.
If you are a team player who is looking to learn how to work with community leaders and how to organize/participate in different community events, this is the internship for you.
Responsibilities:
• Work alongside CT LIVE! producer to schedule interviews with local businesses and community leaders
• Provide support to lifestyle program CT LIVE! by attending shoots with producers and hosts
• Share content ideas for segments
• Support CT LIVE! producer by publishing segments to website and social platforms
• Edit and post reels to CT LIVE! social handles
• If applicable, edit segments for broadcast
Qualifications
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook preferred
• Proficient in using social media platforms such as, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
• Prior video editing experience
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
• IN-PERSON Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT

• Detailed oriented by nature
• Comfortable working on multiple projects at the same time
• Ability to find creative solutions to projects
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
• Responsible, punctual, creative, and professional
• Able to interface maturely with all levels of company management, and able to participate in execution of strategic division and departmental initiatives
• Excellent organizational skills. Able to maintain departmental operational standards
• Top-notch written, verbal, and proofreading skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
