NBC & Telemundo Connecticut Internships provide students with real world experience and exposure to working in the television news industry. Internships at NBC & Telemundo Connecticut are paid and do not require course credit.

Pay rate is minimum wage.

NBC Connecticut is looking for a team player to work with our Producers. As a Digital intern you will work side-by-side with our team to learn and contribute with the following:
• Assist with social media
• Pitch, report and write news and features
• Identify opportunities for interaction on social media platforms with live conversations between reporters and story sources, as well as finding ways to use graphics and data for visualization
• Cut video from linear shows for use on websites, apps and social media
• Shadow digital editors, TV producers, assignment desk editors and others
• In-depth understanding and use of producing vertical video for platforms like Instagram and TikTok
• Program Dates: Fall 2024 and Spring 2025
• Time commitment is 200 hours per semester

Qualifications

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
• IN-PERSON Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT

Desired Characteristics:
• Pursuing a major in Digital Media or Broadcast Journalism
• Responsible, punctual, creative, and professional
• Knowledge of all digital platforms
• News writing experience
• Proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Premiere
• Knowledge of the Connecticut market/its metropolitan areas
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
