Department: Baseball Performance Science

Reports To: Minor League Video Coordinator

Description: The Tampa Bay Rays have begun our search for members of our 2025 Affiliate Intern class. This position will coordinate the day-to-day video operations in addition to various player development tasks at one of our minor league affiliates. Our Minor League Affiliate Intern can also expect to gain insight into various aspects of baseball operations including, but not limited to, advance scouting, performance science, pro scouting, amateur scouting, data analysis, and player development.

Possible Locations: Six interns will be placed in one of the following locations: Port Charlotte, FL (2), Charleston, SC (1), Bowling Green, KY (1), Montgomery, AL (1), or Durham, NC (1). Housing considerations provided.

Responsibilities:
• Operate video equipment to record games and practice, ensuring high-quality video is available for player/staff review and analysis
• Travel with affiliate team and be responsible for the transportation of necessary technology
• Prepare advance scouting material at specific affiliates
• Create and deliver pre-game hitting and run game presentations to staff and players
• Operate various on field technology including portable Trackman units
• Collaborate with the affiliate coaching staff, coordinators, and front office with the implementation and execution of various strategies and initiatives
• Participate in our intern development program which includes skill development, optional and required independent projects, and Q&A with front office members
• Complete ad hoc projects as assigned by the player development, scouting, and front office staff
• Assist in the implementation and data collection of performance science initiatives
• Support with player transportation and logistics

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge of the game of baseball
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Above average work ethic and resourcefulness
• Command of Microsoft Office suite programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to relocate for the duration of the minor league season
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours in line with the baseball schedule including nights and weekends
• Spanish-speaking skills are preferred, but not required
• SQL knowledge is useful, but not required
