SPE INTERN:
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allows you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities. This Summer Internship is from May/June through August and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday on a remote/hybrid schedule.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Silvergate Media is an independent media company developing world-class children's brands for multi-platform broadcasters and retail partners with offices in London and New York and operations in China. The company was founded by Lord Alli and Viscount Astor in October 2011 through the purchase of the rights to the two pre-school properties: Peter Rabbit and Octonauts. Since then the company has established a studio in New York which has released Sunny Day on Nickelodeon in 2017 and Hilda on Netflix in 2018 with a number of new properties currently in production and development.
We are searching for an energetic, self-directed, highly organized, proactive creative type to provide administrative and creative support to a TV team producing an animated children's series and developing new projects. Ideal candidate has knowledge/interest in animation, kids' media, and pop culture. This position reports to the Hilda Associate Producer and Manager of Creative Content.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Weekly market/industry research and updates
• Specific project-based research
• Written coverage on pitched projects and book properties (pictures and chapter)
• Updates on Silvergate shows on IMDB and Wikipedia
• Participation on show-specific table reads
• TV Tie-In book manuscript reviews and copy edits
• Book library archiving and toy organization
• Audit creative show meetings where appropriate
• Transcribing raw meeting notes and light administrative support (eg, photocopying and food orders)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergrad student
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop
• Proficiency in Premiere and Final Draft
• Familiarity with animation pipelines a plus
• Prior experience in television production a plus
