SPE INTERN:

This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The New Media Sales and Distribution organization at SPT is responsible for driving innovative ways of distributing Sony pictures and Partner content, specifically focused on new technologies and formats. Our team is responsible for all phases of distribution from securing partner deals, enabling/ licensing of content from partners, surfacing content on the digital distribution channels, taking it to market and tracking them for performance and alignment of business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Data Analyst Intern/Trainee will help to provide reporting and market insights to support internal teams and business decisions. You will work with Analyst, New Media to create regular reporting for internal stakeholders and clients. You will also support the Analyst to validate outputs to new foundational reporting tools, and co-ordinate across the New Media team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Create regular reports for internal stakeholders and clients including content performance, partner driven KPI's and social sentiment
• Support New Media Analyst to validate data in new foundational reporting tools across Grafana, Tableau and proprietary reporting tools.
• Work with development team to ensure documentation of query updates, change logs and discrepancies
• Work with Analyst and development team to co-ordinate active tickets in Wrike/Jira/Confluence
• Create ad-hoc reports to support business and partner needs from multiple data sources
• Provide insights to Commercial Partnerships team around market norms and trends

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of media & entertainment business, new media, technology
• Knowledge of Tableau, Python, Grafana or similar data & analytics tools a plus
• Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts using multiple data sources
• Analytical skills that allow for the definition and usage of data-driven reports, gathering data insights and summarizing findings
• Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking & attention to detail essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated team player
• Entrepreneurial spirit and attitude, professional courage and initiative
• Unquestionable integrity
• Bachelor's degree preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of media & entertainment business, new media, technology
• Knowledge of Tableau, Python, Grafana or similar data & analytics tools a plus

The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
