Job Summary

The Pittsburgh Pirates are looking for an Intern, Video Production to join our team and help us build media that drives our storytelling narrative and business value. Our focus is to tell the stories of our past, present, and future in ways that connect on an emotional level with our fanbase, future fanbase and beyond.

This role will be an integral part of the Story Team at the Pirates, working alongside a team of creatives, community, and public relations. This role will assist our video producers and other creative personnel to fulfill the department's video & motion-driven needs. A strong understanding of current advertising, social and media trends that will engage a younger audience is a must.

Responsibilities

Primary
• Maintain, ingest, log, document, archive content and various other duties.
• Help conceptualize and build new ideas and concepts for Pittsburgh Pirates creative content.
• Assist in writing, producing, and editing content, including but not limited to, interview segments, highlight reels, commercials, social media videos, sponsorship content and in-game features.
• Assist as videographer and production assistant for variety of shoots.
• Assist in set up and break down of on and off-site video productions.
• Always represent the Pittsburgh Pirates in a positive and professional manner.
• All other duties as assigned by Director, Story & Production.

Requirements

Required:
• Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
• Degree-Seeking Program at Junior, Senior or Graduate level, majoring in Marketing, Communications, Photography, or a related field.
• Must be available for the entire duration of the internship (March – end of Pirates baseball season).
• Knowledge of non-linear editing systems required; Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
• Experience with professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar; Must have a strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Desired:
• A knowledge and understanding for the game of baseball.
• Graphic and motion design skills a plus (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Audio editing and mastering skills a plus.
• Working in a live production environment.
• Desire to learn and grow within professional sports production.
