Overview

Pineapple Street Studios was founded in 2016 in Brooklyn, NY, with a clear, simple mission in mind: work with the most interesting and ambitious creative and corporate partners to create the highest quality audio stories in a variety of forms and across a range of genres. We take pride in our flexible approach to partnerships and we strive to make shows that represent a diversity of ideas, communities, and interests.

We are excited to offer two remote six-month long training positions at Pineapple Street Studios. These positions offer the opportunity to do exciting and meaningful work on various shows and learn about diverse production styles and roles in the industry.

The PSS production apprenticeship is meant to be a great growth experience for applicants who already possess some audio skills. A great candidate may have already had an internship and is comfortable editing in a DAW like Hindenburg or ProTools.

The PSS production internship is intended to be a learning experience for those who are passionate about audio storytelling. A great candidate may be switching careers and pivoting to audio for the first time or has made an independent podcast in their closet.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

Both roles will be responsible for a combination of the following tasks:
• Taking meeting notes
• Pitching guest, segment, and episode title ideas
• Booking guests, including scheduling and securing executed release form
• Creating interview prep docs
• Assisting lead producer with episode outlines and media needs
• Attending recording sessions for assigned episodes
• Logging tape after recording sessions
• Writing and editing ad copy
• Creating sessions with relevant tape from multiple recordings
• Taking first passes on assigned episodes, segments and ads

Qualifications

For the production positions:

• Tell us about a recent radio piece or podcast you felt was flawed in some way. What would you change about it and why?

DETAILS Any individual over the age of 18 may apply. You must be authorized to work in the United States. Priority will be given to applicants looking for full-time work (40 hours), but we can accommodate a part-time schedule as well. PSS interns and apprentices are paid $23 per hour. We do not offer college credit. The roles would start August 22nd, 2022 and run through February 17th, 2022.
