We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Communications Intern, Suns Basketball to assist team members with communications operations and execution of media relations efforts with a focus on Phoenix Suns basketball for the 2024-25 NBA season.
What You Will Do:
• Execute tasks pertaining to communications operations for Suns home games, including media credentialing, hosting/check-in, media seating assignments and set up, producing game stats, pre and postgame notes/quotes and other game day media/PR related duties.
• Update stats and otherwise assist with producing the team game notes prior to each game
• Assist with media services initiatives including assembling and delivering media packets, and aiding media members with a service-focused approach
• Assist with daily compilation of press clips and monitoring of team coverage
What We Need From Our Communications Intern, Suns Basketball:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including game days and nights, holidays and weekends
• Excellent writing and proofreading skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills
• Knowledge of the NBA and basketball stats, and ability to identify trends
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt changes while managing multiple tasks
• Service-focused approach in interaction with media and others
Experience/ Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with a focus in Communication, Business Administration or a related field
• Some experience working in professional or high-level college sports preferred, ideally in a communications capacity
