Information Security Internships - Summer 2023 (Privacy, Threat Intel, Security Architecture)

Types of Roles:

Privacy Engineering

The Privacy Group supports all brands and properties for Paramount in all things privacy. We are a combined team consisting of lawyers, program managers, and technologists. Our goal is to ensure that the practices surrounding collection, use, and sharing of personal information are aligned with Paramount legal and business policies.

Qualifications:
• Technical stack: C, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, Terraform, Ansible
• Familiarity with Android & Apple development ecosystems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (technical and non-technical)
• Major in Software Engineer or Mobile Application Development preferred

Information Technology (Risk Management) Intern

Paramount's Information Security Vendor Risk Management team works closely with all Paramount+ divisions and brands. As an international team covering all time zones, the team identifies business and high-risk concerns related to a variety of Paramount+ executions/projects/programming and helps create solutions to cultivate 3rd party relationships between vendors and Paramount+.

Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in Information Security preferred
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Experience with risk manegement and vendor assesments preferred

Privacy Technology Data Mapping

The Privacy Data Mapping group is responsible for data mapping and discovery globally. We enable other functions of the Central Privacy Team to respond to Privacy Requests and comply with global laws. We manage privacy assessments and advise teams on vendor store submissions. We work closely with Information Security and partners throughout the entire corporation. If you want to be part of a team responsible for a wide range of cross-functional privacy and data protection projects then this role might be a good fit for you.
• Collaborate with and advise a variety of stakeholders ranging from executives, to website and app developers, on privacy risks and techniques to mitigate those risks.

Qualifications:
• Computer Science or related degree
• Strong written/verbal communication skills, analytical and time management skills
• Interest in Privacy

Security Engineering

The Security Engineering team is part of the larger Information Security team, and provides services for Application Security, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, and Security Automation and Orchestration. Our team works closely with engineering teams across all business units to secure critical company applications such as Paramount+, BET+, Showtime, and more. If you have knowledge of network protocols and secure network design as well as, security assessments and penetration testing this may be the role for you!

Qualifications:
• Relevant software knowledge: Microsoft Excel, Python/Javascript
• Cybersecurity/Information Security, computer science, or any engineering major
• Knowledge of basic penetration testing tools and techniques, as well as network architecture understanding, operating system exploitation tactics and techniques, and endpoint protection deployment methods
• Knowledge of SOAR (Security, Orchestration, Automation and Response) Technologies
• Understanding of AWS Environment - Good coding skills; preferably Python - Experience with GitHub, Terraform

Security Engineering (Product)

Pluto TV Product Security Team helps develop, build and maintain the security of our product infrastructure. We work closely with the product teams across Pluto TV to find creative solutions to improve our security posture.Intern will help develop a centralized portal to manage security findings and reports - Enrich and improve our WAF rules with Threat intelligence - Automate anomaly detection using AWS native services like CloudTrail, GuardDuty using serverless computing - Collaborate with other teams to solve security challenges.

Qualifications:
• Understanding of AWS Environment - Good coding skills; preferably Python - Experience with GitHub, Terraform
• Must be pursuing a masters degree

Information Security Architecture

The Information Security – Security Architecture Team (IS-SA), a part of Paramount Information Security, works closely with various Paramount IT (Information Technology) teams and stakeholders. Conducting security assessments and design reviews, verification, and validation, identifying and tracking security findings and risks, are some of the core activities of the team. If you have interest in assisting with the activities in any one or more of the core areas mentioned above then this is the right role for you!

Qualifications:
• Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel
• Excellent technical writing & documentation skills
• Information technology or similar programs preferred

Vulnerability Management

The Vulnerability Management (VM) team is part of the broader Paramount Information Security organization. The VM team works with technical groups across the entire enterprise to ensure that information security vulnerabilities are identified on all Paramount Global systems and remediated to mitigate risks. We accomplish this through vulnerability scanning, analysis, and prioritization activities with both internal and external partners. The vulnerability management intern will review the vulnerability scan results, under the guidance of VM team members, to prioritize remediation activities. Approximately 40% of the intern's work includes creating and tracking tickets for remediation activities across numerous Paramount Global tech teams. If you want to be a part of the broader team that helps identify and remidiated security vulnerabilities then this role may be a fit for you!

Qualifications:
• Information Security or related technology major preferred
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

The central privacy team works with all paramount brands and is responsible for privacy requirements on various platforrms and regions.
