Job Description

Get hands-on experience in how to plan and execute a daily Chicago Lifestyle Show.

Intern will work side by side with producers in researching story ideas, local activities, and citizens of note. You'll be tasked with research and gathering content, among other responsibilities. You'll also be giving opportunities to pitch show ideas, edit, write, and eventually produce your own segment on our show. This internship will help you develop your ability to see individual stories and a whole show come together, grow your writing and editorial judgment, as well as absorb a tremendous amount of production knowledge. There will also be opportunities to help with field shots.

Summer 2024 Internship Program:
• Program Dates: June 3 – August 9, 2024
• Recent graduates will NOT be eligible for this program
• Internships at NBCUniversal are paid and do not require course credit

• Upload a transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine) that confirms your status as an actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program
• Recent graduates will NOT be eligible for this program

Qualifications
• Studying journalism/media
• Basic video editing skills
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal

Desired Characteristics:
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
• Must have strong writing ability, good content judgment, creativity and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements:
• This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
• Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
