Universal City:

At our Universal City office interns will have access to the NBCUCommutes program, which provides fully subsidized transit passes to full-time lower lot employees, good for unlimited rides on all Metro bus and rail, such as the Metro Red Line.

Summer 2025 Recruitment Timeline:

Mid November – Late December: First round video interviews

Job Description

Summer 2025 Internship Program:
• Applications Close: December 6th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!
• Program Dates: June 2 – August 8, 2025
• Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. 
• Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.

The Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) consists of the operations to produce, acquire, market and distribute filmed entertainment worldwide in various media formats for theatrical, home entertainment, television and other distribution platforms. The division operates globally with colleagues spread across 20 countries. We pride ourselves in supporting and amplifying diverse stories told by unique voices. We want to bring in driven, dedicated, and diverse talent into our organization who are just as passionate as we are in continuing to tell stories that reflect our global audience.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
• Focus Features Production: Intern will research (filming location, tax rebates, crew availability), review production/post-production schedules, production reports, call sheet, wrap reports, and provide general administrative support.
• Focus Features Production Development: Intern will provide script coverage, maintain filmmaker and project databases, review production schedules and call sheets, and general administrative support.
• Post-Production Operations: Intern will assist teams in the daily operational processes needed to produce high-end marketing material, such as theatrical trailers and TV advertisements, for Universal Theatrical Film campaigns.
• Theatrical Operations: Intern will support a variety of critical functions within the International Distribution Group, including localization and digital cinema mastering for all international theatrical releases.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025). May 2025 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2025 Internship Program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Desired Characteristics:
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, strategic thinker, creative, researcher, energetic, resourceful, self-starter, great time-management.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of organization and ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and proofreading skills
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

The hourly rate for student interns is $17.50
