Job Description

Academic Year Internship Program:
• Applications Close: May at 8th11:59pm ET
• Program Dates: September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025
• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.  We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.
• Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.

Studio Distribution – Title & Library Governance:

The Library Governance team is responsible for the curation, research, and safeguarding of NBCUniversal Feature & Television digital assets and technical metadata across a growing number of media libraries. From within the larger TechOps organization, Library Governance supports Studio Distribution and the fulfillment supply chain across multiple US offices, providing client services & order management to fulfill content to all distribution outlets, secondary platforms, and third-party clients.

Working within Library Governance gives you the unique opportunity to do something different every day. From diving into the trenches of our digital archive uncovering deeply buried content to propelling into the future of technological innovation and content management, our goal is to keep the legacy of NBCUniversal's Film and Television Entertainment alive for anyone who loves movies and TV. As our intern, you can touch every part of the content life cycle across production, mastering, and distribution. Every day will bring a new challenge that you should be ready to solve.

Your day-to-day will consist mostly of overseeing projects to align film and spec terminology across multiple applications. As you dive into the world of film formats and explore our robust library, you'll be in the spotlight, with a chance to leave your mark and build connections across different teams and disciplines. Working closely with product and business leads, you'll understand industry best practices and propose alignment strategies to fine-tune our supply chain for smooth delivery across various streaming platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, and Peacock. Our intern will have high visibility and the potential for a high impact legacy at NBCUniversal.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

Desired Characteristics:
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Basic understanding of film terminology and industry specs.
• Strong interest in film library curation and asset management.
• Project Management experience.
• Knowledge of SmartSheet, Excel, and PowerPoint would be helpful.

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $30.00
