About the Role & Program

Join for the opportunity to intern with National Geographic's Team Nature Production team! Our team oversees National Geographic's content slate of natural history and wildlife-centric television series, specials, and franchises. We provide premium wildlife series and specials across our company's many platforms like Disney+ and the Nat Geo linear channels. Our team of network producers and admin staff liaise with strategic partners across the TWDC to handle content management. If you are eager to learn how our production team crafts our shows and guides the editorial through the production life cycle-from green light to final delivery, then this role might be a great fit for you!

The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 through August 2025. If selected for this role, you will report directly to the Associate Producer. A cover letter indicating your interest in the National Geographic Team Nature Production Intern, Summer 2025 position is required.

What You Will Do

As an intern with National Geographic Team Nature Production, you will gain firsthand experience in how natural history and premium wildlife content are produced.

Some responsibilities in this role may include:
• Attending various development and production meetings for both blue chip specials and series.
• Shadowing an executive producer for cut reviews and editorial notes.
• Assisting in cross-department initiatives and support social, PR and marketing needs.
• Assisting Production team on projects as needed including helping maintain various production tracker documents, production databases and program roll-outs.
• Providing competitive analysis on both television and digital projects in wildlife/animal space.
• Researching potential talent that would be suitable for consideration in specific shows.

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Analytical and organized
• Ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment
• Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel
• Adept at learning new software

Preferred Qualifications
• Interest in National Geographic and its mission
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for natural history and wildlife content

Education
• Senior year preferred
• Major or previous coursework in Communications, Journalism, Media, Production/Filmmaking/Studio Arts, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or related major preferred

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 through August 2025
• Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm ET for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Washington, DC area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
