Overview

Summary: Supports the marketing team as a creative writer. Contributes to a wide variety of marketing projects, including digital content, digital advertising, traditional advertising, and industry research. Internship will begin in February or March 2022 and will end in July or August 2022.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.
• Copywriting for digital and traditional marketing assets, including TV & radio ads, emails, digital ads, flyers, social media posts, and more.
• Working with creative and video teams to brainstorm messaging and creative direction for advertising campaigns and projects.
• Regularly writing feature stories and blog posts for Brewers Breakdown, the team blog on brewers.com.
• Help maintain the Brewers Breakdown editorial calendar, including ideation, planning, and execution for different content pieces.
• Assisting in content creation and ideation for platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, team podcast, email newsletter, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
• Contributing to biweekly editorial newsletter (What's Brewing), including brainstorming content and writing email copy.
• Game day responsibilities for this position are limited but may be requested. These responsibilities could include execution of marketing initiatives and events, social media responsibilities and other special projects as assigned.
• Monitoring industry trends for different digital platforms, including Youtube, Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.
• Monitor social media posts/comments/replies, etc. on a regular basis to understand consumer feedback, complaints and issues, coordinating closely with other departments, as needed, to address and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Help update brand voice and copywriting style guide.

• Writing – Writes/edits clearly and informatively. Possesses a strong grasp of grammar, sentence structure, and active voice. Has experience working in AP Style. Journalism, communications, or copywriting backgrounds preferred.
• Baseball/Sports Knowledge - Must have a strong working knowledge of baseball, including rules, scoring and jargon.

Education and/or Experience

Candidates must be currently enrolled or a recent graduate from an accredited college or university pursuing a Marketing or Communications Degree.

Writing & Editing Skills

Must have a strong working knowledge of AP Style. Candidates will be asked to meet quick turnaround deadlines with precision and grammatical accuracy.

Computer Skills

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

Must have a strong working knowledge of various social networking sites and applications including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, etc.
Other Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and demonstrated skills in video production, graphic design, typography and illustration techniques a plus, but not required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Hours

This position is approximately 40 hours/week during the baseball season and will primarily fall during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm). Occasional support during games and events may be requested. Candidates must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
